The Market Arms, The Bait, Deadliest Catch, Season 14, Discovery 200th episode red carpet event was a success. Pacific Fishermen Shipyard, was backdrop to ‘The Bait’ start of the show in the heart of Ballard, WA in Seattle located in the heart of the Pacific Northwest.
The Market Arms is an English Pub that is home to local fishermen, the maritime industry and Ballard locals; its a local watering hole to some in the neighborhood. There was a little buzz around Ballard the first week of April as the Discovery film crew and production crew set up camp for filming at The Market Arms that premiered on April 10, 2018 as a Red Carpet at event for ‘Super Fans’ to attend the taping a week prior to the premier date at The Market Arms… Ballard was a bit torn up, road hard and put away wet as crabbers were pumped up and on the loose the evening after filming; nothing that our Norweign hardcore commming fishing community can’t handle or isn’t use to!
The Market Arms is a British Pub located next to Pacific Fishermen Shipyard, with their outdoor Patio over head of Lunde Marine Electronics in the heartbeat of Ballard on the Ship Canal close to the Ballard Locks. The Market Arms prides itself in serving great pub food, a wide choice of beer, wine and liquor. Their activities and things to do while in the pub include darts, pool, shuffleboard, outdoor patio and seating overlooking Pacific Fishermen Shipyard and the WA Ship Canal, they are prone to showing on multiple screens European and American football – in other words: soccer being European football, lots of Euros!
Pacific Fishermen Shipyard is on the WA Ship Canal just east of the Ballard Locks, The Market Arms is just of the hill from the shipyard next door a stone throw away. Deadliest Catch Season 14, The Bait, Premier had Captain Keith of the F/V Wizard and Captain Sig of the F/V Northwest do a ‘walk and talk about their boats, from the docks of Pacific Fishermen Shipyard where the Wizard was tied up on her port hip and the Northwestern was stern in. Both Captain’s give their hardworking, very much earned bragging rights about their boats in the Seattle rain in our 1st week of April.
The Bait, Deadliest Catch Season 14, Captain Jake Anderson at The Market Arms with the other Captains to discuss their pros, cons, grips and stories that launched their 2017 King Crab season in Alaska’s Bering Sea.
Brenna A, Deadliest Catch, Discovery bringing back Captain Sean Dwyer. The Bait at The Market Arms also brought out Captain Sean and business partner and Mama Jenny Dwyer. This family has done one heck of an amazing job raising funds and supporting ALS research and those affected by this horrible death sentence of a disease; the Dwyer family has made most of their Discovery Channel opportunities and exposure to raise awareness for ALS. In the middle of 2014 Pat Ford Dwyer – the PFD on the F/V Brenna A. bow – Pat lost his 8 plus year battle to ALS. The Dwyers are a great family that leads by positive example!
Pacific Fishermen Shipyard was the 1st home that was short and fast after her refit, shave and massive haircut to the boat. Wild Bill soon after took the boat uphill to Alaska where last season was his 1st season as a boat owners and Summer Bay was splashed with a new name and new paint etc…. back in the Bering Sea. Deadliest Catch Season 14, The Bait at The Market Arms got a bit emotional when Captain Wild Bill spoke briefly about this deckhand that when overboard, boots in the air…. traumatic, scary and horrific to say the least. Stay tuned to see what’s happening this next season for these Bering Sea Alaska Crabbers. God Bless our Fishermen and their families at sea and on land!
