The Lido Boat Show in sunny Newport Beach, California is here! This Southern California boat show is designed and specifically produced to draw in clients looking for big boats and yachts, and every piece of equipment they need to make their nautical time even more exhilarating. Now in its 36th year, it’s continued to grow exponentially every year thanks to word of mouth and the spectacle of what’s on display. This year will feature more than 200 (!) big vessels on display, so it’s perfect for anyone seriously looking into making the investment of a lifetime.
The show’s Newport Beach location is no coincidence- it’s one of the most beautiful spots you’ll find on America’s West Coast, and active & affluent boaters from around the world consider it a must-visit. For 36 years, the Lido Boat Show has taken up residence at the gorgeous Newport Harbor. The West’s biggest fall boat show returns to Lido Marina Village this year for a four whole days of boats, hardware, gear, and everything else you could possibly need for boating bliss.Running September 18-21, visitors to the northwest tip of the harbor will find motor yachts, superyachts, trawlers, sportfishers, cruisers, catamarans, tugs, sailboats and more — literally tons and tons of boats to scrutinize and consider.
While boats have been built, marketed, bought, sold, and resold in plenty of new ways over the last 36 years, boat shows are just as important as ever- there’s simply no better place to sample so many goods in just one place. That isn’t to say it isn’t more high tech than ever — apps for show attendees, iPads being used by brokers to give presentations on a whim, and even flat-screen TVs in the boats themselves running builder-produced videos on an endless loop. There’s never been a better time for the boat-buying public to engage in expansive research in just one location, and the Lido Boat Show has long been recognized as one of the best places to do exactly that. This is why manufacturers like Stan Miller Yachts and Chuck Hovey Yachts have been present at the show since the very beginning, and why they continue to come back each year to display and debut new boats.
There will be several new boats on display at the show, including two that will be debuting. The MC4 from Monte Carlo will make its North American debut at Lido, showing off its 45 feet of European styling and Monte Carlo design. Taking advantage of IPS engines and pods, designers created room for two master-worthy staterooms below, one of them a full-beam amidships retreat. A flybridge with two social spaces really makes the MC4 a great “outdoors” boat, since there’s also a spacious cockpit and two large sunpads on the bow.
Making its world debut at Lido is the Hinckley Talaria 43, an express cruiser or dayboat that happens to run at 34 knots, thanks to twin Cummins QSB 550 diesels and a pair of Hamilton waterjets. The signature feature on the Talaria 43 is the aft enclosure — glass windows and a sliding door that electrically retract into the port and starboard cabinetry, opening up the main deck from helm to transom.
Whether you’re looking for a new ride or just looking to look, we hope to see you at the Lido Boat Show!
