Season 15 of Deadliest Catch season 15 has a brand new threat has docked at Dutch Harbor: Captain Steve “Harley” Davidson and his 148-foot-long ship known as the Southern Wind. And boy, does that man know how to catch lots of crab.

In the leading Deadliest Catch premiere of the Discovery series, the other fisherman admit how their newest rival is a “cutthroat” and “aggressive” pro whose ship could suck up 1,000 miles of crab in just two days.” Captain Keith Colburn of The Wizard doesn’t hold anything back when sharing his opinion of Davidson: “I put the Southern Wind right at the top of the list of guys I don’t like. Lots of opinions are flying about the the seasoned and salty Southern Wind Captains. Captain Sig Hansen of the Northwestern throws him a bone by saying, “he’s not bashful by any means. That’s what makes him a good fisherman.”

The action takes place in Dutch Harbor, Alaska, which Discovery calls “a maverick town” with some changes afoot. “A new boat blows into town, rumored to know where over a quarter-billion dollars worth of king crabs are located. The rest of the fleet is left on the outside willing to do anything to get in on the score. Complicating matters, massive winter weather comes up and never really goes back down.” Southern Wind has been around a long time, not new to crabbing but new to the Deadliest Catch TV show.

Steve “Harley” Davidson captains 148-foot-long Southern Wind. The boat is the second-largest in the fleet behind Captain Keith Colburn’s The Wizard. Colburn is not fond of Davidson, this is the local scuttlebutt on the water, land and at sea.
