Seafair Log Boom Party – Get Out There on the Water for Seafair!
Seattle hosts Seafair every summer- and it’s a lot more than just a weekend thing. It’s a month-long, region-wide barbecue, that brings an entire community together in celebration. Now well past its 60th year of celebration, Seafair has been about community events, parades, Miss Seafair, the Navy and Coast Guard, amateur athletics, airplanes and of course, boat racing. This year, the culmination of Seattle’s favorite summertime celebration takes place Friday, July 31 – Sunday, August 2 at Genesee Park on Lake Washington!
Albert Lee Appliance Seafair Cup
The H1 Unlimited hydroplane racing tour comes to Seattle for the Albert Lee Appliance Seafair Cup at Seafair Weekend! Starting days before the big weekend, hydroplanes and their boat camps will move in to the Stan Sayres Pits at Genesee Park in preparation for one of the biggest races of the season. This race is the largest stage H1 Unlimited Hydroplane drivers will race on all season. Immense crowds, live television coverage on KIRO TV and live radio broadcast of the races make this one heck of an event! With a majority of the drivers calling the Seattle area home, it’s also a chance to race in front of friends and family in an event many of them have followed since childhood.
On Friday the roar of the worlds fastest powerboats will fill the air as drivers go head to head to steal the winning title. Sunday of race weekend is deemed “Championship Sunday”, and is broadcast live on KIRO 7 Eyewitness news and on Alternative Talk 1150 AM. This event is one not to miss!
Boeing Seafair Air Show
In addition to the races, you’ll also get to experience the Boeing Seafair Air Show! The biggest air show in Seattle takes place every day of Seafair Weekend over Lake Washington. You won’t be able to miss the thunder of the U.S. Navy Blue Angels ripping through the sky at heart-pounding speeds. Stay tuned for other exciting acts performing aerial maneuvers high in the sky, too!
During their aerobatic demonstration, the Blues fly six F/A-18 Hornet aircraft, split into the Diamond Formation (Blue Angels 1 through 4) and the Lead and Opposing Solos (Blue Angels 5 and 6). Most of the show alternates between maneuvers performed by the Diamond Formation and those performed by the Solos. The Diamond, in tight formation and usually at lower speeds, performs maneuvers such as formation loops, barrel rolls, and transitions from one formation to another. The Solos showcase the high performance capabilities of their individual aircraft through the execution of high-speed passes, slow passes, fast rolls, slow rolls, and very tight turns. It’s amazing to see, and you’ve gotta see it for yourself!
Hyperlite Seafair Wakeboard Experience
Some of the world’s best wakeboarders will perform tricks and flips in the water each day in the South Turn at Seafair Weekend. These professionals will battle for the winning title in the Hyperlite Wakeboard Experience. The Endless Ride Cable system allows for maximum ride time for the wakeboarders so there is no lag between runs. Don’t miss these incredible athletes all weekend on Lake Washington!
Each year thousands of Seattleites gather for one of the city’s oldest and most cherished traditions. The worlds fastest powerboats race on the waters of Lake Washington as the U.S. Navy Blue Angels soar in the sky overhead. Kids activities, food vendors and interactive booths sprawl across Genesee Park and live bands play all weekend long on the Live Entertainment Stage. Don’t miss the biggest weekend in Seattle!

Seafair has become a huge source of local Northwest pride over the years. The Puget Sound is as robust, diverse and booming as ever, making Seafair more important than ever. As other cities become homogenized, Seafair is a one of the many unique catalysts that keep us unique.
