Argosy Christmas Ships and the 2nd Annual Parade of Boats, Argosy Partners with Yachting Pioneers NW and the Pacific Northwest maritime local industry. Last year was the 1st of of its kind, as an organized Parade of Boats in Seattle. The starting point for the boats and yachts line up was in front of the Northwest Dock at Fishermen’s Terminal in the Ship Canal. This will be the same starting point this year on December 16th for vessel check in and line up. This year the goal is to do a much better job of registered boats to actually lining up. There were many moments last year at the 1st Annual Parade of Boats it looked and felt like bumper boats in the ship canal. Thank heavens we didn’t have any gravel barges or massive tugs pushing barges during the Parade of Boats. Last year Salty Dog Boating News team did do many advanced calls and notifications to large tug companies and the big boat commercial vessel community to let them know about the night of organized chaos! This year we have high hopes to coach private yacht owners into their parade line up numbered designated location.
Argosy Christmas Ships & Parade of Boats 2016, Vessel Fun Line Up In the Ship Canal
Parade of Boats 2nd Annual in 2016, Yachting Pioneers Partners with Argosy. Holiday traditions in the Northwest start on the water with Argosy Cruises. Argosy Cruises Christmas Ship Festival is a holiday Christmas celebration that has been a Pacific Northwest tradition since 1949. Every year, the Argosy Christmas Ship(s) sails to different Puget Sound waterfront communities, around 65 in total. Choirs aboard the ship give 20 minute performances to these communities, all broadcast via our state-of-the-art speaker system. On shore, thousands of people gather around roaring bonfires anticipating the arrival of the Christmas Ship.
Yachting Pioneers NW Partners with Argosy Christmas Ships in December, 2nd Annual Parade of Boats, Join the Fun!
The 2nd Annual Christmas Ship Parade of Boats Night will add a special twinkle to Lake Union on the evening of Friday, December 16 between 7pm and 9pm. More than 65 boats registered to take part in the inaugural parade in 2015. The brightly decorated yachts will meet in front of Fishermen’s Terminal and begin their promenade westward through the Fremont Cut around 8:30 pm.
