Seattle Parade of Boats, Argosy, United Yacht Transport on Judges Panel
United Yacht Transport has been nominated to be a Seattle honorable Parade of Boat Judge on December 18, 2015. Argosy Christmas Ship Festival has partnered with Yachting Pioneers. Maritime industry leaders in Yachting Pioneers were nominated to Judge, United Yacht Transport is the leader in North American Yacht Transport and was an excellent addition to this year’s Parade of Boats judging panel.
Argosy Christmas Ship Festival sponsors include Alaska Airlines, AAA, Komo ABC 4 News and The Seattle Times. December 18th Parade of Boats plans to get an extreme amount of media exposure this Holiday Season while Argosy Christmas Ship Parades and Festivals continue until December 23rd. This great exposure is thanks to the high-end sponsorship and maritime industry and community participation in the largest marine event in the Pacific Northwest in December.
United Yacht Transport, Parade Judge, Seattle Argosy Christmas Ship Festival
The Parade of Boats will begin lining up at 7:00pm on Dec. 18th in front of Seattle’s Fishermen’s Terminal at the NW dock just off the bow of the F/T Constellation. Argosy ships are currently all sold out, vessels passenger capacity ranges between 150 and 350 passengers on each of the 5 sold out Argosy Christmas Ships on Dec. 18th – Ships include: Spirit of Seattle, Good Time 2, Celebrations, Lady Mary and Sightseer. The passengers aboard the Argosy Ships will have the opportunity to judge and vote on the “People’s Choice Award” their favorite holiday decorated private yacht in the boat parade.
The Dec. 18th parade judge’s boat will be at the front of the Parade just behind Lady Mary. Boat Parade time begins at 7:45pm lead by large Argosy Christmas Ships, and then the yachts decorated in the Boat Parade will follow behind. The route start is at Fishermen’s Terminal, some vessels will need a Ballard Bridge and Fremont Bridge lift. Just after the Fremont Bridge on the east side in Lake Union the Judges boat will ‘jog’ hold the boat still and steady then the boat parade will continue past lead by the large vessel also packed with passengers named the ‘Spirit of 76.’ The judge’s boat will ‘jog’ in front of Morrison’s Fuel Dock, at that time official Parade of Boats Judging Begins. Captain Charlie Johnson, of United Yacht Transport will be voting, judging vessels as they pass by.

December 18th Parade of Boats: Spectator Location Info:
–If you’d like to watch the first Christmas Ship performance of the night and see the parade vessels at the very start of the parade, watch from the NW Dock at Fishermen’s Terminal (Google Map). The first performance starts at 7:45pm, so we would recommend that you get in place prior to that time.
–A great place to view the entire Parade of Boats is the Fremont Canal Park which lines almost the entire north side of the Fremont Cut on the parade route (Google Map). The Burke-Gilman Trail is an easy access point by bike or on foot.
–On the south side of the Fremont Cut, West Ewing Mini Park sits at the end of 3rd Avenue West (Google Map). And the South Ship Canal Trail parallels the parade route.
