San Juan Island Yacht Club is organized for the purpose of encouraging and supporting all forms of yachting in the Northwest, to bring Members together to share matters of common interest, and to promote safe and enjoyable boating. SJIYC is a cruising Club with over 300 active boaters. Their members travel as far north as Glacier Bay and south to the Gulf of California. They sponsor 8 to 10 local cruises each year along with the Shaw Island Classic sailboat race.
