Cornelia Marie Returns to Deadliest Catch on Season 14, Captain Josh Harris & Captain Casey McManus will be back at the helm and on the screen, They’re Back! Of course these are ‘true blue’ fishermen, they practically have gills and claws, they may not have been on Season 13 of Deadliest Catch, by no such reason as ‘Deadliest Catch Production’ went in a different direction in the past season 13, sounds like there was absolutely no bad blood between Captains and Deadliest Catch Production team. In short; the break may have really worked in F/V Cornelia Marie’s favor; fans went ‘bat crazy nuts and drastically missed the boat and CM crew!
So some may ask why was Cornelia Marie missing on Deadliest Catch in Season 13, nosey views want to know: the scuttlebutt is: Captain Josh Harris had a number of personal family members in the hospital, it wasn’t something production and the rest of the world needed to be apart of. Even though Deadliest Catch is a reality series and Emmy-Winning at that; sometimes personal family moments are deemed private matters. Amen!
Josh Harris, hopefully feels that all of our hearts go out to him, he’s had a heck of a few years. Hopefully his fate is changing for the better. Currently he’s the only Harris fishing at sea. Recently his grandfather passed away last winter; his little brother Jake was badly beaten and left on the side of the road for dead, God willing Jake has recovered since and is still recovering with personal matters. Jake is in our prayers, to find the straight and narrow, lean into the light and get the sad dark days behind him.
Cornelia Marie had a major refit overhaul a few seasons back, in the lower 48 at Northlake Shipyard on Lake Union in Seattle. When the boat is in Seattle in her off-season that means lots of jogs up and down the canal, Fremont and Ballard Bridge lifts, drops and lifts in the Ballard Locks; followed by Puget Sound, Shilshole Bay sea trials. The ship canal is salty and peppered by Deadliest Catch, Alaska Bering Sea Crab Boat in their fishing and tending off seasons. For those of us who live and work in the maritime industry, we love the positive economic impact they bring to the Pacific Northwest after each snotty season where the boat gets beat to heck and needs repairs; so she can do it all over again and again!
Deadliest Catch, Season 14, Captain Casey McManus will run the boat for King Crab in the fall and Captain Josh Harris will be their for Opies. Of course its great for viewers to see the legacy of Phil Harris live on; as Casey and Josh keep the boat fishing. Lots of quota for the CM to fill this 2017 and 2018 crab fishing seasons. The boat has partner’s and yes – Harris is still the largest shareholder.
