Fishermen’s Terminal, Annual Fishermen’s Fall Festival celebration welcomes the safe return of the North Pacific and Alaskan fishing fleet to Fishermen’s Terminal.  The Festival works to increase the public’s knowledge of the importance of the fishing industry as well as Fishermen’s Terminal to Seattle while raising money for the Seattle Fishermen’s Memorial Foundation. This is an ‘all-volunteer’ event that depends on over 200 volunteers for its annual success.

Saturday, September 30th, 2013
11:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

The festival provides families with a fun and educational outing on the waterfront as well as an opportunity to learn more about seafood. Hands-on art projects with fishing themes, including the popular wooden boat building and trout pond, are complementary for all children and admission to the festival is free. Proceeds from the activities within the festival are donated to the Seattle Fishermen’s Memorial to assist families of fishers lost at sea. The Fishermen’s Fall Festival is a unique maritime Seattle event to celebrate those who work out on the sea!

Fishermen’s Festival Highlights Include:

Salmon BBQ – The best deal on the waterfront!  Giant portions of perfectly prepared salmon, corn on the cob, coleslaw, garlic bread, a beverage and dessert complete a delicious meal everyone will enjoy.  100% of proceeds benefit the Seattle Fishermen’s Memorial Fund.

The Reptile Man – Always a favorite!  The Reptile Man’s scaly friends delight children of all ages while providing education, interaction, and fun facts about reptiles domestic and exotic.

Lutefisk Eating Contest – Rivalries reignite and legends are born when competitors face-off at this infamous contest!

Salmon Fillet Contest – Participants pit their skills against one another as they fillet fast and furiously for prizes and bragging rights.

Survival Suit Races – Starting at 3:00pm this is definitely a fun and unusual race.  The Survival Suite Races at the Fishermen’s Fall Festival is a great community event – especially since it highlights the safety gear that’s used on the vessels of the not so “Deadliest Catch”! Each team has four people.  Anyone can race, even kids as long as they have a parent or guardian’s authorization.  It’s completely free to participate. Survival suits are provided.
