The most photographed Salty Dog Lab with these Deadliest Catch boats who literally tie up or zip by out homeport village; usually during our Salty Dog lab canal swim time. In our Pacific Northwest Ship Canal during off season when Alaska Bering Sea Crabbers, aren’t catching crab in the Bering Sea or taking fish in the summer as salmon tenders. Seattle’s WA Ship Canal has strings of AK crabbers east and westbound which anyway you look.

Deadliest Catch boats are a nugget of the AK Crabber fleet that calls the Pacific Northwest home. Most of these crabbers are in the lower 48 to get shipyard work done, most likely over at Pacific Fishermen Shipyard, Northlake Shipyard, Trident Old Yard, or they will do their own work over at Fishermen’s Terminal or the Ballard, Magnolia sides strung out along the Ship Canal east of the Ballard Locks.

F/V Northwestern, Deadliest Catch boat homeport in the lower 48 is the per usual Pacific Fishermen Shipyard. Usual the game plan for the run home is get a lift through the Ballard Locks, next the boat zips over to Fishermen’s Terminal west wall unload crab pots at rapid fire fast pace, then they zip back westbound to put the boat to bed at Pacific Fishermen Shipyard in Ballard, one of Seattle’s finest up and coming booming neighborhoods with over 600 plus happening bars, restaurants and the ever so famous local watering hole the ‘Smoke Shop’ an extra salty bar for locals with a thick skin and those who never run out of ‘story-times!’

Alaska Bering Sea Crabbers tend to get most of their yard work and paint jobs done between AK crab season and summer salmon tending, this make spring in the WA Ship Canal a happening spot, with great Pacific Northwest positive economic impact assisting and growing the PNW maritime industry, community and local waterfront.

F/V Summer Bay, Deadliest Catch, Wild Bill has a new Alaska Bering Sea crab boat on season 13 of Deadliest Catch. Wild Bill Wichrowski is a major salty dog in his own right. F/V Summer Bay spent a good grip of time in late summer in Seattle at Pacific Fishermen Shipyard getting a new paint job a shave and a haircut with a custom tag line on the outside of the wheelhouse of Summer Bay, it reads – “Attitude Makes The Difference” under a bright yellow sun and plan tree painted just above. Wild Bill is no stranger to warm Mexican waters and warm fishing grounds with shorelines over flowing in palm tree.

F/V Summer Bay left late summer from the WA Ship Canal, our Salty Dog Lab Lookout gave a massive bark and tail wave as the boat came out of Fishermen’s Terminal full loaded with crab pots, then Captain Wild Bill took the Summer Bay through the Ballard Locks for a drop, into Shilshole Bay, the Puget Sound, and then the sunny Pacific Northwest afternoon with a run to Alaska’s Bering Sea. F/V Saga, Deadliest Catch, Alaska Bering Sea Crabber, lands in the lower 48 in Seattle on the second day of Spring after the filming of Deadliest Catch season 13. Home in Seattle a few weeks before the F/V Saga was the F/V Wizard and F/V Northwestern, they’re docked just west down the ship canal a puddle jump away in their per usual homeport lower 48 locations. All of these crabber will breath for a little bit before running back uphill about around June for AK summer salmon tendering. In early spring they are usually off the boat fast and love-in up on time with family and friends for some overdue quality R&R!

Deadliest Catch, Sean Dwyer, St. George Marine Homeport when not fishing in the Bering Sea running to get on the herd, or when not taking fish during summer salmon tending; the Brenna A. homeport is Fishermen’s Terminal in the lower 48. Per usual along with a good grip of the Bering Sea AK fleet they take down time between season’s in the Seattle Ship Canal, scattered around the canal on either side of Ballard, Magnolia, lower Queen Ann, Fremont and down into Lake Union resting the boat in fresh water inside the Ballard Lock lift.

F/V Brenna A. Sean Dwyer has gone from a salty kid on his family boat the F/V Jennifer A. while she used to be a Bering Sea Crabber to their other Dwyer family boat the Brenna A. Deadliest Catch brought on young Sean Dwyer on season 12 of Deadliest Catch. Salty Dog lab lookout had the F/V Brenna A. bow off out salty dog village mosf that seasons late Sept. to early Oct. as the Dwyer family and Brenna A. crew did the rapid fire hurry up and get the boat ready to take crab. For us it was just a per usual end of summer time crab boat buzz of activity while our Salty Dog Lab lookout swims and cools off in the canal enjoying her custom lab dog ramp getting her 105′ bootie our of the water for lots of great doggy shakes and rolls!

F/V Wizard, Deadliest Catch, Alaska Bering Sea Crabber, after wrapping season 13 of Deadliest Catch, the Wizard was one of the first AK Crabbers to make it home in the lower 48 WA Ship Canal. F/V Wizard homeport is usually saddled up between Pacific Fishermen Shipyard and Ballard Oil. Our Salty Dog Lab Lookout is always on the move in our ever fast changing Pacific Northwest maritime community and industry.

F/V Wizard is a big girl at 156 ft. Captain Keith Colburn is a local per usual salty dog around the great NW Seattle region, to us locals these crabbers are just ‘regular family guys’ who can’t wait to get home to see kids, friends, loved ones and do all the regular day to day chores and activities we get to do on land. F/V Cornelia Marie, Deadliest Catch Season 13, the scuttle-butt is, Discovery will not be featuring Cornelia Marie, Josh Harris, Casey McManus and crew in this upcoming season. According to Josh’s very kind public notice announcements he says their is no bad blood or major issues that lead to this change in production. Josh explained Discovery has full creative control over Deadliest Catch and they did not have a film crew on board for season 13. Us PNW local still get to see the F/V Cornelia Marie in the lower 48 around the canal, the boat got in early spring after crab season. They made is just in time for all of our Pacific Northwest massive non stop rain. One of the PNW rainiest winters and spring to date in the last 20 years!
