Deadliest Catch, Alaska Bering Sea Crabbers in our Seattle Ship Canal coming and going lots of Ballard Bridge Lifts, Shipyard touch and goes around Ballard, Pacific Fishermen Shipyard; and down to Northlake Shipyard on Lake Union and jogs in and out of Fishermen’s Terminal.

Alaska Bering Sea Crabbers are a different breed of human, they are their own ‘fishing species’. How do I know this?  Many years in South Naknek & throughout Alaska villages and snotty seas – that’s me, came up through the ‘Maritime Ranks’ as well as old school Larsen Bay, Kodiak Island days…. etc… mostly out of – Naknek, Egegik, Ugashik, Togiak, Clarks Point, Dillingham, Akutan (AKA: Crap-utan), Dutch, then running up and down hill, – SE AK was not our fishing grounds, it was the downhill run for our playground to do after season hiking, dining out, bar crawls & walking on land, rolling into town and always back to the boat! Always wake up on your boat!

Ya’ll watch Deadliest Catch boats on TV, we see them right here at home and work in the canal, lots & lots of Alaska Bering Sea Crabbers are buzzing around the Ship Canal in the greater Pacific Northwest and Seattle region; when they are not fishing in the Bering Sea for Crab season or Tendering in SE AK or Bristol Bay taking salmon in the summer, racing for fastest offload position, ‘the need for tender speed’ is for real! F/V Saga, Deadliest Catch, Alaska Bering Sea Crabber after the 2017 crab season up north the F/V Saga lands in the Pacific Northwest the 2nd day of spring, top of the morning Ballard Locks and Bridge Four lift into the Ship Canal to offload pots and put the boat to bed in an extra rainy, wet NW spring!

F/V Northwestern, Deadliest Catch, AK Bering Sea Crabber Homeport, Pacific Fishermen Shipyard, Seattle Ship Canal after an extra snotty season on the herd at sea! Amen our Pacific Northwest Crabbers are making their way home safe!

All tucked in off the stern of  F/V Pinnacle with F/V Notorious off the port bow. Seattle Ship Canal, departing Fishermen’s Terminal to run over for a Ballard Bridge lift eastbound in the ship canal, then jog up the canal to the lake! Deadliest Catch boats love to zip around our PNW freshwater extra fun and crazy busy ship canal!

Deadliest Catch: Newest Captain For Deadliest Catch is Sean Dwyer on F/V Breanna A.  2nd Season Under Sean’s Belt, Season 13, on Deadliest Catch: “We like to brag about being the fastest tender in Bristol Bay and SE, Alaska” says Sean Dwyer in a top news interview we ran a few years ago on Salty Dog Boating News not long before Sean’s father, Pat Dwyer, passed away from ALS.  Every commercial fishing family has a unique story; some of courage, sadness, loss, sacrifice and teamwork through the seasons.  This story is about a family who, ‘leads by great example.’
