Don’t miss the familiar roar of the US Navy Blue Angels at Seafair Weekend in 2015! These Boeing F/A-18 aircrafts will race overhead at speeds approaching 700 mph. The Blues will perform aerobatic and low-flying maneuvers as Seattleites look on in awe from the shores of Lake Washington. The team amazes spectators with mentally and physically demanding maneuvers such as vertical rolls performed by the Opposing Solo and the Sneak Pass performed by the Lead Solo.

The US Navy Blue Angels participated in their first air show in 1946 and since have performed for an estimated 11 million spectators during air shows each year. A total of 16 officers voluntarily serve with the Blue Angels. The mission of the United States Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron is to showcase the pride and professionalism of the United States Navy and Marine Corps by inspiring a culture of excellence and service to country through demonstrations and community outreach.

Precision. Speed. Audacity. Aerobatics is one of the world’s most demanding disciplines and one of the most fascinating sights to watch from the ground. A concentrated blend of technical ability, mastery and finesse, the Breitling Jet Team is the elite in its field. Breitling recognizes excellence in aviation and this unique aerobatic team actively promotes the wonder of flight to the public. Working closely together to reinforce the core values of the company, the Breitling Jet Team has carried out the mission with verve, performing for awestruck audiences across the globe for over a decade.

Sometimes flying to within just three meters of each other, the skill and trust to operate the L-39C Albatros jets in such tight formation is created over the numerous years of operating together. With very few changes to the team over ten years, the pilots do not think, operate or react as individuals, but as one cohesive unit naturally ensuring the safety of the team is their number one priority. The display ends with a dazzling pyrotechnic finale, using a system of thermal flares to light the sky.

Taking audiences to the edges of their seats and limits of their imaginations, Sean D. Tucker and Oracle Challenger III dance across the sky, delighting millions of air show fans each year. More than half of Tucker’s Sky Dance maneuvers are unique and have never been duplicated by other pilots. For a thrilling 13 minutes Tucker expertly performs one-of-a-kind and precision maneuvers with curious names such as Centrifuge, Double Hammerhead, Alley Oop, Forward Flip, Harrier Pass and the Triple Ribbon Cut.

Sometimes flying backwards – straight down, tail first – other times catapulting across the skies then descending in a controlled “tumble,” the Sky Dance performance is among the best in the world. During the Sky Dance, Tucker will pull more than nine positive g-forces and more than seven negative g-forces. Four rare vintage World War II aircraft, flown by the Flying Heritage Collection, will take to the skies over Lake Washington during the Boeing Seafair Airshow.

bildeFlying Heritage Museum of Everett is Bringing Classic Planes to the Boeing Air Show

The FHC houses a unique assemblage of military aircraft and vehicles in Everett, Washington. Philanthropist and Microsoft co-founder Paul G. Allen established the Flying Heritage Collection in the 1990s to preserve these icons of technology born from turmoil. These rare aircraft and ground weapons took decades to locate, acquire, and meticulously restore to their original wartime condition. Not only does each artifact appear exactly as it did in combat, most are fully functional.

Over Seafair weekend, the FHC will fly the speedy twin-engine North American B-25J Mitchell bomber, a plane made famous by Jimmy Doolittle’s raid on Tokyo in 1942. The tough Grumman F6F-5 Hellcat Navy fighter will also take to the skies. The aircraft is one of only a handful of airworthy Hellcats left in the world. The FHC’s sleek silver North American P-51D Mustang is also scheduled to perform. The plane is a combat veteran that shot down a German Me 262 jet fighter over Europe in 1945. And the nimble Japanese Mitsubishi A6M3 Zero fighter will make an appearance as well. The Zero was the best fighter in the Pacific at the beginning of the war.

Air Combat Command F-22 Demonstration Team

The Air Combat Command F-22 Demonstration Team at Langley Air Force Base performs precision aerial maneuvers to demonstrate the unique capabilities of the world’s only operational fifth-generation fighter aircraft. The team also teams up with Air Force Heritage flight exhibiting the professional qualities the Air Force develops in the people who fly, maintain and support these aircraft.

The US Air Force Heritage Flight program presents the evolution of USAF air power by flying today’s state-of-the-art fighter aircraft in close formation with vintage fighter aircraft. An HF performance involves a current USAF fighter piloted by an Air Combat Command trained military HF pilot and flown with a historical warbird piloted by a trained and certified civilian HF pilot. The HF formations of modern fighters flying with World War II, Korean, and Vietnam era fighters such as the P-51 Mustang and F-86 Sabre, dramatically display our US Air Force air power history and proudly support our Air Force’s recruiting and retention efforts. In 2010, the Air Force Heritage Flight Foundation was formed to keep this popular program flying.
