Alaska Salmon Tenders, Welcome Home to Seattle: end of August means AK tenders trickle into the Ballard Locks and make their way to their home ports in the WA Ship Canal. The Bristol Bay Salmon season for summer of 2017 bring many smiles to those who work on the water, Bristol Bay 2017 brings big harvest of salmon and big bucks; its a blessing compared to the wind being blow out of fishemens sails from the summer prior.
Alaska Tenders, exploded with fish, all hands on deck and all efforts getting salmon offloaded at the plants was the focus. Some say this season was one of the greatest salmon migrations ever seen in the Nushagak District.

Pacific Fishermen’s Terminal is filling up end of August with Alaska fishing fleets, AK Bering Sea Crabbers, Trawlers, Draggers, Tenders and more… its great to have Alaska fishing vessels home safe and sound.
None of us will from February 11, 2017, F/V Destination and 6 crewmen went down with the boat off St. George Island, the boat has since been found 250 ft. underwater in the Bering Sea. NOAA located F/V Destination in July 2017. The disappearance and lives lost aboard the Destination have stuck a nerve up and down the coast in all AK and PNW fishing fleets. RIP Destination!

Trident Seafoods Salmon Tenders, Welcome Home to Seattle, the fleet spends most of its off season over at Trident Old Yard just east of the Ballard Bridge next to Western Towboat, across the Canal from Ocean Beauty Seafoods.
F/V Entrance Point Salmon Tender returns to from up north after her jog down hill she guns it, coming in hot to the Ship Canal for Ballard Bridge lift, she’s leaving a wake and well doesn’t care as they are almost home to put the boat to bed, such a great end of season feeling.
