Alaska Bering Sea Crabbers and AK Tenders, touch their home ports safely back in the Seattle Ship Canal. Late winter in the Pacific Northwest brings F/V Pinnacle, F/V Scandies Rose and F/V Bulldog home safe to the lower 48. More AK commercial fishing boats are still trickling in. As these Alaska commercial fishing boats are blessed to have made it through another snotty season off the Aleutian Islands, not all AK fishing boats will be coming home this year; as these boats celebrate their homecoming, we also mourn the loss of F/V Destination. On Feb. 11, 2017 the crew of 6 men, first class fishermen lost their lives in Alaska’s Bering Sea off St. George Island.
F/V Pinnacle does a fast touch and go offload over at Fishermen’s Terminal west wall, next they nestle the boat in her per usual ship canal Pacific Northwest lower 48 homeport on the finger dock next to Pacific Fishermen’s Shipyard and Ballard Oil. As Northwest sailboats and yachts line up to get in the ‘q’ for a Ballard Locks drop, F/V Pinnacle is put to bed after a very snotty AK Bering Sea Crab season. God Bless – all our crab boats to make it home safe this season!
F/V Scandies Rose, AK Bering Sea Crabber, wow it’s great to see her back in her homeport at the Ocean Beauty dock in the Seattle Ship Canal. Sandies Rose is a 130 ft. AK Crabber, her holding capacity is 60,832 gallons of fuel in ten integrated tanks and over 7,600 gallons of water, and crabber comfortably sleeps a crew of eleven. Scandies Rose spends her summer months salmon tending for Ocean Beauty in Southeast and Bristol Bay, Alaska. The all recognizable bow features a shield with her giant classic rose and with a starboard USA flag and Norwegian port flag. AK Bering Sea Crabbers welcome home this February, it’s good t see our fishermen make it home safe, especially this season.
F/V Bulldog, Trident Seafoods Tender, 141 ft. big and beamy tender doing a Ship Canal flip next to Western Towboat tugs, now zipping westbound for a Ballard Bridge lift as it blows and rains like crazy this dark and gray Pacific Northwest winter afternoon. Bulldog is one of Tridents dedicated salmon tenders operating throughout Alaska. Trident Old Yard is a year round busy shipyard in the PNW, its an amen blessing to see all commercial fishing boats to make it back to the lower 48 this winter!
F/V Destination, Seattle Ship Canal Will Miss This AK Fishing Boat. Feb. 2017, Destination was taken by Alaska’s Bering Sea, 6 men and first class fishermen lost their battle with the sea off the coast of St. George Island. God Bless F/V Destination fishermen and their families, our prayers are with you.
