O’Hara Corporation, F/T Araho 194′ catcher processor after winter in the Bering Sea, Alaska lands in the lower 48, Fishermen’s Terminal Seattle ship canal. The 194’ Araho is well-known as the technologically advanced boat in the Bering Sea. She’s still a new Bering Sea boat, built by Eastern Shipbuilding of Panama City, Florida was delivered upon completion around spring of 2016. She’s a big beast of boat as far as catcher processor go.

Araho, is Ohara spelled backwards, at 194′ this freezer trawler holding capacity of 850 metric tons of fish. The Amendment 80 fleet, for vessels who harvest in the Bering Sea and Aleutian Islands of Alaska is made up for 28 vessels, 23 active vessels are used in various commercial fisheries. Amendment 80 fleet, has a long and complicated track record with economists and fishery management associations and organizations. Thanks to National Marine Fisheries Services who then moved to fix the problem, with Amendment 97, in October 2012 which then allow for construction of new vessels, thus a key motivation of the high-tech F/T Araho with leading safe fishing capabilities for humans on board and species in the sea.
F/T Araho was built by Eastern Shipbuilding Group in Panama City, Florida, she headed to Alaska spring of 2016, via making her way through the Panama Canal. After spending her first fall and winter in the Bering Sea of Alaska mid February 2017 she has now made her way to the lower 48 resting over at Fishermen’s Terminal in the ever busy Seattle Ship Canal.
