F/V Summer Bay, Captain Wild Bill Wichrowski, has a new crab boat on Deadliest Catch season 13. Discovery has announced the new season will launch per its usual Tuesday nights in April 2017. F/V Summer Bay, has a custom quote painted on the sides of the wheelhouse exterior reading, “Attitude Makes The Difference.” Hummm… is Captain Wild Bill practicing being in a ‘calm state,’ verses his per usual seasonal wheel house ‘flip out’ at crew.

Deadliest Catch featured years back, Wild Bill on the F/V Kodiak, next he ran the F/V Cape Caution, now as of this summer of 2016 after much shipyard in Ballard at Pacific Fishermen Shipyard in the ship canal just west of the Ballard locks, after much summer work – the crab boat got a major shave and a haircut, the F/V Summer Bay, got her ‘custom crab boat trick out.’
Captain Wild Bill, has been quoted in the past for describing his launch on Deadliest Catch years back as, “The first season, I was kind of a maniac. All they did was show me getting angry and losing my mind and doing the ‘Wild’ Bill discipline routine,” per his explanation of how he started out hot right of out the gate. Summer Bay is formally known as the F/V Wassille B. in late September 2016 after loading crab pots at Fishermen’s Terminal F/V Summer Bay made her run up hill to Alaska’s Bering Sea and for her featured spot on Deadliest Catch Season 13.
“Attitude Makes The Difference,” is written on the wheel house for all to see, we shall see if this new ‘tag line’ on the boat makes a difference in Wild Bill’s up-coming crab season crew communication, will he be coming in hot or coming in calm as a cucumber. Who knows?
Captain Wild Bill and his son Zack Larson have had an extra heated and ice cold relationship brewing on their crab boats in the Bering Sea for years. We all remain hopeful and positive as we watch this father and son relationship unfold in season 13, maybe a new boat with new karma will help Zack and Wild Bill heal, squash it and move on from some of their past grievances. Wild Bill has openly discussed buying a new boat, in the past he’s been wide open about not seeing a reason to do it if his son doesn’t get a fire in his shorts and get actively motivated about being in the wheelhouse. Come on Zack, you can do it… we hope you get a new pep-in-your-step and some powerful proactive motivation on the F/V Summer Bay!
The Big Deadliest Catch Season 13 Question: “Have father and son worked out the on the boat differences by now…. on the F/V Summer Bay, the new crab boat?” Stay tuned…..
