Deadliest Catch chronicles the real-life track records and drama at sea and on land of one of the most dangerous jobs in the world. Crab fishing on the unpredictable, mother nature as a beast in the Bering Sea. Based in the Aleutian Islands port of Dutch Harbor, Alaska – the show features life aboard the fishing vessels during the crab fishing seasons and in the midst of some of the coldest and stormiest waters. With an emphasis on the dangers of the job; hence the name of the show. Underway while fishing crews duck heavy crab pots swinging into position, and maneuver hundreds of pounds of crab across a deck packed with potentially deadly hazards, not to mention the relentless build up deadly ice and waves the sizes of sky scrapers, ready to swallow a boat with no notice. As we all miss the F/V Destination, AK Crab boat that was lost at sea February 2017, just last year. Hearts break for these fishermen that were taken into the Bering Sea forever and their family and loved ones.

Deadliest Catch, might not be the same, changes are coming thick and fast, per health and families change over time. It has long been rumored that veteran F/V Northwestern Captain Sig Hansen, especially after his serious heart attack last year, might not come back for the long term, and he will be grandfather soon, which could persuade him to leave the series for good. Another big factor could be the tragedy surrounding the sinking of the F/V Destination and the disappearance of six well-known crew members including their captain.
