F/V Brenna A.  Southeast, Alaska Tender

Alaska Summer Tending Season is in full gear.  A lot of Salmon tenders have already run up hill. Brenna A. joined Deadliest Catch on Discovery for season 12. Brenna A, has always been best known as a summer salmon tender, buzzing all over AK to take fish. Commercial Salmon Tenders in Alaska are notorious for bragging about ‘who’s the fastest tender.’ Most will say, they are the fast boat in Bristol Bay or SE AK.  Seiners, gillnetters and set netters  have their favorite tenders they like to saddle up to, and tender offload speed is always a top reason; in addition to –Fishing Boats want to know:  Does the tender have enough water to let us take a shower?  What’s their on board store have in it?  How much fuel can we get?  Do you have any fresh water?  Hey can you take our trash? Do you have any cookies or brownies?  Fishing boats always need something – that’s where Tenders come in meet their many needs at sea!

Alaska fishing Tenders are the lifeline to Herring and Salmon fishermen and women.  Yes, there are a few chicks on boats in AK in SE and Bristol Bay. (This Salty Dog was one of them, home port – Naknek!)

A lot of Tenders call Seattle WA home,  they are like ants at a picnic -scattered all over the Pacific Northwest.  Have a look at some of this week’s below boat traffic pictures of Tenders in the NW Ship Canal buzzing back and forth under the Ballard Bridge down the Ship Canal a main stop being Ballard Oil!
