Trident Seafoods Aldebaran, Aldebaran 132 ft. Trawl Catcher gets a new shiny paint job this cold winter in Seattle, the bull and horns looking sharp and strong! Trident Seafoods trawl catcher fleet is about 15 vessels ranging in size from 84′ to 165 ft. Of course, governed by federal licensing regulations, some boats operate in the Bering Sea & Aleutian Islands, while some operate in the Gulf of Alaska. The primary target species for these vessels include Alaska pollock and Pacific cod which are harvested at various times throughout the year. When they are not fishing in specific harvesting seasons, some vessels operate as summer salmon tenders taking deliveries of Alaska salmon from a fleet of independent fishermen. Some of Tridents fleet may perform charter work for fisheries research purposes and data collecting.
